Friends,
A couple of weeks ago, I emailed y'all (note my use of this handy bit of American vernacular) about setting up a network for our little bunch of schools' leaders.
My thoughts were to get y'all together before I left the country for good. I figured the best thing I could leave you would be each other - Thence came the idea to set up this network. We are all at different places and on different journeys. My motivation in getting us together in not to replicate 303. My motivation is to build a community of like minded, smart, hard working, passionate leaders and teachers, and hopefully also a network of kids, so that we can continue getting better. By now of course y'all (see what a handy little word this is) know that while I will be leaving for Nymboida, New South Wales at the end of May, I will keep working in a part time capacity involving meetings with teachers on line to support and solidify science and social studies curriculum at 303 and HBGS and 3 or 4 visits per year to provide PD and face to face support. In doing this, I'll be able to pursue my old age adventure, and keep working with amazing friends and colleagues.
Two things prompted my decision.
1) I love this work and think we've all just gotten better and better, and this has happened through hard work and collaboration. After 15 years of trolling slowly through multiple schools in our neighborhoods, our three schools are best middle schools I've seen. That why I chose to work with y'all. I've invested a good chunk of my life in this work and I'm just not ready to walk away from it all.

Hot on the heels of that original email, Kyle seized the chance to suggest we hook up more formally via LPP.
Instant cooperative action happened. Hooray for us ! We have all submitted our applications and site visits are going to happen this month or next month.
What's Next:
Do you think (if we can manage a date and location ), we could meet up for an informal evening before I leave for Ozatralia (which henceforth I shall refer to as Oz) ? I'd like to meet, at least for this first time, at my place because meeting in people's homes provide a much more relaxed space for collaborative and personal conversation. I realize that maybe a challenge for the Brooklynites, but maybe this once you could make the trek.
I'm not sure how we'll choose to develop this network. It'll be up to us. I know for sure no one wants to have more meetings, so let's get together and talk about it.
Next Steps
Coop: Send out Google form to canvas dates to meet .
